York Shodokan Aikido Club is now in it's 25th year.  We have 6 qualified black belt coaches who are all accredited by the British Aikido Board (BAB). 


Latest News:

York Shodokan Aikido Club are celebrating their 25th anniversary and are hosting the SAUK Xmas seminar and Dan grading. Saturday 5th December will be the seminar / grading (registration at 11.30) followed by food and drinks. Sunday 6th there will be another seminar from 10am to 1pm followed by a pub lunch / drinks. All are welcome to join us for this special occasion. Saturdays grading is for 1st to 3rd Dan, open to SAUK members only.

Seminar Cost:

  • Student members £10 Sat / £15 Sat & Sun.
  • Non Students £15 Sat / £20 Sat & Sun.

We want Aikido to be an open and inclusive sport, so people who are interested in Aikido are always welcome to come along and try a session. 

This first lesson is always FREE.  Bring some comfortable cloths and a bottle of water if you want to train, or if you just want to watch the first time then that's ok.

We run adult/student classes 3 times per week, a student only class once per week and a kids club once per week, as below:​
